Ridley Scott exhibition south shields

 Ridley Scott exhibition south shields

Ridley Scott exhibition south shields
Face hugger

i was fist informed about the south shields exhibition through my tutor at the time i knew instantly i wanted to create this monumental peace of famous TV history for all to enjoy.

in creating this fragile peace i started with the body and worked on getting all the detail i could to as close to the ones weave all admired on screen, working with super sculpey a cook-able hard drying clay I've found to be so efficient in the molding structural integrity before and after being cooked and best of all light weight perfect for moving and can be put on top of almost every type of platform with no worry of collapse, super sculpey is also a perfect alternative to clay when making a variety of molds not including plaster molds unless done in specific way to keep the core intact.

working with super sculpey has been one of my more pleasant experiences with oven drying clay's and i would recommend it to future model makers.

(Remember to keep price in mined)

the face huger itself was made with pure super sculpey and wire in the arms leading into the body to hold the shape of the legs and so that it could hold its own weight as it stood.

Ridley Scott exhibition South Shields egg

the egg for the Ridley Scot exhibition was different in the sens it was had to get the right shape of the egg at the same time the time was moving on at this point.

the quickest solution as you see was obtaining a chocolate egg eat the chocolate! most important part.

I then used the older as a mold to cast the two half and glue them together then it was just a matter of adding detail such as the opening layers and the tentacles coming from the base of the egg.

the weight of the egg is a bit more than what i would have liked for moving sake but with time limit and budget you can only do so much with what you have.

Ridley Scott exhibition South Shields

under neath are the finished results after painting and exhibited in the south shields museum next to a signed scrip by Ridley Scott himself.

this project was quite the undertaking but I'm proud to of had my work exhibited right next to the grate Ridley Scott in exhibiting an iconic movie that shocked children to this day  and had gone down in movie history that revolutionized an era.

cake toppers

cake toppers

creating cake toppers as a free lance molder has given me the opportunity to create some weird and wonderful peaces such as the cakes bellow.

slytherin harry potter cake

working on this slytherin harry potter cake with the basilic was alot of fun aspeshaly as you can eat the basilic made or purely icing with no added ingredients except for the coloring. the added shine came from shaping the icing. as I've had comments asking if it was coated or plastic.

nightmare before Christmas cake

this nightmare before Christmas cake figures were made with oven bake clay called Fimo good for creating the intricate detail on the individual details. only problem i had with this product was the weight of it all even with wiring it was still hard to control them standing thus i had to change the positions of the figures to sitting down. in all it was a good product but the weight let it down over all unless you are to cook a figure in peaces then glue it together. but this is still to be tested at a later date.

dragon cake topper

the dragon cake topper was made of pure icing except for the horns witch had tooth picks in to keep the balance when on show tooth picks were also added to the wings as well. the icing was lased with tylose a thinking agent that would allow the icing to set more quickly this was needed as due to the heat that day the icing had become more sticky and harder to control at the time. when the tylose was added it docent sink in strate away witch causes even grater loss of control of the icing until it contains the right consistency to become more moldebal.

hong kong fuey

hong kong fuey is my most resent of work created with icing tylose and tooth picks to keep the structural integrity as with him standing the icing needed to set quickly in place so that it would keep its shape even on top of the cake. this was a fun project as hong kong fuey being a iconic cartoon character i felt it was only right to do him justice.

blackpool tower circus

Blackpool tower circus
sins I was little I went to see the circus at black pool tower I always found it amazing for the route en the talent the effects and the props they used in there performances especially during the water performance this type of work I looked at as inspiration behind what I wanted to do witch was to make props that would be used to entertain hundreds of people and become associated with one of the biggest entertainment industry in Briton.
Blackpool tower now a days is known for Mooky and Mr Booo's as they are regarded as one of the best clown acts in englend as Laci Endresz Jr (mooky) started in black pool tower in 1999 when his father Laci Endresz sr retired. Laci Endresz Jr took on the job at the tower as Mooky he became an instant hit only doing the shows in the summer but mooky is also the biggest act in the tower sins Charlie Cairoli (1910-1980) and has been able to fill the tower for nearly every show as is mooky has helped the tower and has been able to pick up the baton left by the grate Charlie Cairoli.

Blackpool tower has been home to a variety of acts through the years like the trapeze act, air acrobatics, human staking, and a group from china known for there procion acrobatics through and over objects and the water show for the finale at the end of every show these are what has made black pool tower an existing peace of entertainment for the hole family

my favorites Carlo's bakery

this is buddy and this is Carlo's bakery

Carlo's bakery is a cake shop in America that is world famous for the cakes that are made here.
Carlo's bakery has become the place to be if you're a cake or model maker being that they only except the best and to have you're name on one of these cakes is a massive step for a career in this business. Carlo's bakery has also been on TV showing them designing, making and delivering these cakes.
from watching this Carlo's bakery I learn quite a few skills that I used when making and designing cake's. the cakes bellow are just a few of my favourites and I've added links so you can see them being designed and mad for yourself.

episode 11 A Blindfold, a Bikini and Breathing Fire

The tiki mask cakes has got to be one of my personal favourites because of not just the detailing in the cake, for me it was the fire breather being able to blow the fire and have it look as if it was coming from the mask itself this is why it makes one of my favourite cakes.

check out how it was made bellow:

episode 2 Candy, Crash and Crisis
Season 4 (2011–12)

candy, crash and Cristals was another favourite of mine due to having a big sweet tooth but also the placement and detailing that went in to these pieces. when I say placement it probably just looks as if they took a hole lode of sweets and chucked them all over it that's not the case if you watch you can  see how all the peace's have there own specific place and they put in a few surprises like the ice cream with a face to liven parts up to look like an actual candy land extravaganza fit for any birthday.

episode 17 A Big Bumblebee & A Bossy Grace

the bumblebee cake was made to amaze this grate peace was made to not only look grate but taste delicious. the bumblebee cake was made with lights smoke and sound effects to give extra visual aesthetics to the peace that made this an all round fantastic peace.

check out how it was made bellow:

episode 24 Chandelier Cake & a Christening

the chandelier cake was one of the hardest cakes that buddy and crew had ever made being that it had to dangle from the sealing but it also had working lights and lots of curled sugar glass that was then stuck into the cake so that the sugar glass would pick up the light and make it seem as if the light was streaming out right to the tips of the sugar glass this is one of the most revered cakes by Meany due to it being an up side down dangling cake and that is why this is one of my favourite cakes.

check out how it was made bellow:

episode 32 Coffins, Costumes and a Cake on a Gurney

the coffin cake funny and a sight to behold this cake was made for a vampire initiation ritual that makes it extraordinary but it gets better this cake is one of my favourites as it was made based on one off buddy's crew due to the girl that ordered it thought it ideal that it look like a normal victim and pointed out the crew mate so buddy ran with it witch was funny to watch. they added in two puncher holes in the neck that looked as if he had been bitten but also with real looking blood that real gave it that realism that they were looking for and the detail in the coffin just set it off. creepy cool and funny makes this one of my favourite peace's.

check out how it was made bellow:

if you want to check out any of the other episode's all the episode in order and names can be found hear or if you just want to watch them in order from the beginning all the episode's can be found on YouTube just a copy and past the names and sit back and watch.

props

props

I chose to put these props up because this is what I hope to do for my future and create peace's like the ones bellow I found these on instructables I like these props because of there detail and realism as you can see the R2 D2 isn't an exact replica but I like it any way because they have taken the original and changed it to what he likes this is what I fined better than most peace's taking an idea and adding your own flair to it that makes it stand out and this definitely stands out.

the good thing about finding props like this on instructables is that you can see how they have done it and improve are change how it is made getting ether better are worse results its all about trying new things in this filed of work.

looking at sites like instructables helps people like me trying to get into this field of work expand and even put a price on that expansion and techniques witch also helps. is anyone is interested in viewing are making any of these peace's I've put the links to these peace's just bellow.

tech

tech

iv always been a big fan of tech especially of stuff you can make yourself. I found these on instructables and thought they were just class because this type of stuff may be slightly pricey but what you get at the end is some cool tech without it costing an arm and a leg.

I fined these to be a good how to Gide on not just making these peace's bellow but also taking peace's from these and putting them into different projects in all learning a new technique.

I have put the links bellow if you want to make are learn new technique to put into you're own projects.

the paint ball mask I tried for my self this was useful at the time due to me doing airsoft and my mask was fogging up the fan part I would suggest that you use meshing over the side that is near youre face as that is what I did due to the closeness of the fan to my face I chose a thin meshing so it was easier to shape and so that the fan still allowed cool air into the mask.
